LinkedIn on iOS

LinkedIn on iOS.

I’ve posted about the mobile version of LinkedIn a couple of times. In the comments, people asked me where and how they could get the mobile app if it wasn’t available in the Russian App Store.

I can’t offer any advice on Android or Huawei, but I can share a useful trick for Apple iOS ;)

It turns out that you can use two accounts on iOS: one as your main account and another for the App Store, Apple Music and Apple TV. That’s what we’re going to take advantage of.

Unfortunately, this trick does come with a few inconveniences:

  • When switching accounts, your device needs to have a non-Russian IP address (I couldn’t log in with a Russian one). But given that you’re reading this on LinkedIn despite the access restrictions, you presumably already have a VPN.
  • You need an Apple ID registered in another country. I imagine that if you already have a VPN, you’ll find a way to create one.
  • Switching accounts removes all the Apple Music tracks downloaded to your device. After every switch, you have to download some of your playlists from iCloud again.
  • You have to switch accounts every time you want to update the app through another country’s App Store.

If none of that puts you off, swipe through the step-by-step guide in the carousel.

Some of you may have known this already, but there’s a good chance the guide will help someone install the LinkedIn mobile app (and others too) from another country’s App Store.
